Police Investigating American’s Death
Police in Oman said they were investigating the death of an American whose body was found in the Persian Gulf state.
Two Westerners have been shot in mysterious circumstances in the last two months in Oman. It was not immediately clear if the latest death was linked, but a police spokesman told the official news agency ONA that the circumstances of the U.S. citizen’s death were being investigated. He gave no further details.
A German tourist was shot to death in Muscat, the capital, in early December. A month earlier, another European tourist was shot and seriously injured in Muscat. Authorities said that incident was a hunting accident.
