From Times Wire Reports

The Baltimore Sun fired Pulitzer Prize winner William K. Marimow as editor and senior vice president and replaced him with Timothy A. Franklin of the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel.

At a staff meeting, the Sun’s publisher and chief executive, Denise Palmer, declined to discuss whether she had specific disagreements with Marimow, saying instead that she wanted to pick her management team.

“It’s the publisher’s prerogative to choose an editor whom the publisher wants to work with. In this case, the publisher exercised that prerogative, and I respect that,” said Marimow.
