Deputy, 2 Others Hurt in Collision

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy and two other people were hospitalized Wednesday night after the deputy’s cruiser collided with another car at 228th and Figueroa streets.
The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. The cause was not yet clear, but a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the deputy was not chasing anyone at the time.
The deputy suffered minor injuries, according to the department. The condition of the two others was not immediately known.
