Cal State Fullerton (5-8, 1-3) at UC Irvine (8-6, 3-2), 1 p.m., KUCI-FM (88.9), Fox Sports Net 2 -- The Anteaters are 3-2 at home this season, all of their victories coming in the closing moments -- including one in double overtime. Fullerton ended a four-game losing streak Thursday with a 74-66 victory at Long Beach. Irvine blew a 10-point second half lead but rallied to defeat visiting UC Riverside, 66-65.

Cal State Northridge (6-7, 2-3) at Utah State (12-1, 4-0), 6 p.m. PST -- The Aggies have won nine in a row, are 8-0 at home, and after Thursday’s convincing 66-51 victory over visiting Pacific, they’re alone atop the Big West Conference standings. Northridge fell at Idaho on Thursday, 74-70, despite leading by eight points at halftime. Forward Ian Boylan, who has had an uncharacteristically quiet season offensively, scored 18 points and had five assists.

UC Riverside (5-7, 2-2) at Long Beach State (4-10, 2-3), 7:30 p.m., KPRO (1570) -- Riverside is looking for its first road win after a controversial last-second loss Thursday at UC Irvine. Sophomore forward Nate Carter is averaging 14.8 points and 6.2 rebounds. Long Beach has a three-game losing streak for the second time this season.

UC Santa Barbara (8-5, 2-2) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (6-6, 1-3), 7 p.m., KTMS (990) -- Santa Barbara was expected to challenge for the Big West title, but the Gauchos’ 2-2 start has allowed Utah State to already begin pulling away. Forward Casey Cook, Santa Barbara’s leading rebounder and second-leading scorer, has a strained right quadriceps and will not play. Cal Poly’s Varnie Dennis is averaging 19.7 points and 7.8 rebounds.

Loyola Marymount (9-6, 1-2) at Santa Clara (10-7, 2-0), 7 p.m., KXLU-FM (88.9) -- Loyola had a season-high 15 steals and forced 26 turnovers in a victory at San Diego on Thursday. Guard Wes Wardrop returned to the lineup after sitting out four games because of an injured left foot. Forward Sherman Gay is averaging 23 points in the Lions’ last three games. In a victory over Pepperdine on Thursday, Santa Clara limited the Waves to 41% shooting.

Pepperdine (6-12, 1-2) at San Diego (3-13, 0-1), 7 p.m. -- Yakhouba Diawara had 16 points and five rebounds in his first game for the Waves. Sophomore Derick Grubb has become Pepperdine’s starting center and has been a solid rebounder. He had 11 Thursday in a loss to Santa Clara.

WOMEN

USC (7-7, 4-2) at Arizona State (10-5, 4-2), 1 p.m. -- USC and Arizona State are tied with Oregon State for third place in the Pacific 10 Conference. Take away the seven-of-10 shooting effort by Ebony Hoffman and the Trojans were 15 of 61 (24.6%) in a 75-64 loss at Arizona on Thursday. Arizona State’s Kristen Kovesdy, a sophomore forward, had a career-high 24 points the same night in a victory over UCLA.

UCLA (8-7, 3-3) at Arizona (13-4, 5-1), 3 p.m., Fox Sports Net, KIIS (850) -- UCLA has lost consecutive games only once this season, but to avoid it happening again the Bruins will have to end Arizona’s 22-game home winning streak. UCLA lost to Arizona State, 73-58, Thursday and must contend with Arizona’s 6-5 sophomore center, Shawntinice Polk, who averages 16.1 points and 9.2 rebounds.
