Robitaille Might Play Against Blackhawks

Left wing Luc Robitaille’s two-game view from the locker room could end tonight.

A healthy scratch in consecutive games for the first time in his 18-year career, Robitaille might play against the Chicago Blackhawks, King Coach Andy Murray said Saturday.

Robitaille, the top goal-scoring left wing of all time, expressed anger Friday over his recent absence in the lineup, saying “it’s not helping me to be a leader if I’m sitting” and calling it “wrong ... just wrong.”

Robitaille, who hasn’t scored a goal in his last nine games, has been a healthy scratch only three times in his career.

“We would like to get Luc back in there,” Murray said. “Right now the final decision hasn’t been made.”

Murray sat Robitaille, 37, Wednesday at Minnesota because he said he was resting him. Murray then kept Robitaille out Friday at Columbus because he was pleased with the way the lineup looked against Minnesota. The Kings didn’t fare as well in a 3-2 overtime loss Friday, which could lead to lineup changes.

Rookie Dustin Brown, out since Nov. 29 because of a severely sprained ankle, could join the Kings when they return Monday from their four-game trip. “I think he’ll be set to practice with the team,” Murray said.... The Kings are on a 14-game winless streak (0-3-9-2). The team record for longest winless streak is 17 games (0-13-4) in 1969-70.... Enforcer Kip Brennan could play tonight after serving a 10-game suspension for returning to the ice after being escorted off by referees.
