Mojave facility a center for learning

I enjoyed reading “Mojave Milestones” [Jan. 11]. There’s a unique opportunity to learn about the Mojave Desert from the comforts of the Soda Springs Desert Studies Center. The College of Extended Learning at Cal State San Bernardino, cel.csusb.edu, offers an array of family-friendly, desert-related personal enrichment courses at the center in Zzyzx, Calif., near Baker. The courses explore topics in areas such as history, art, biology, anthropology, astronomy and geology. Courses will begin in mid-February.
