Midwest, East Storms Blamed in 35 Deaths
From Times Wire Reports
Winter storms spread snow, sleet, and freezing rain across much of the Midwest and East, glazing highways with treacherous ice, and closing schools and government offices from Nebraska and Missouri to Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia.
Another storm brought snow to Pennsylvania and New York with more forecast. The weather was blamed for at least 35 deaths, most of them traffic-related.
Delta Air Lines delayed or canceled some 300 flights Monday out of Atlanta.
