Jaromir Jagr logged more ice time than any other Ranger forward Monday night. He still had enough energy to enjoy some postgame cheers from his new home crowd.

Jagr had a three-point night in his home debut for New York, setting up Brian Leetch’s tiebreaking score and adding a third-period goal and assist in a 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers.

“I’m glad it’s behind me,” said Jagr, who reveled in the cheers when he came back out for the encore awarded to the game’s first star. “We won, that’s all that matters. We needed that game.”

Jagr, acquired Friday from Washington, enjoyed this game much more than his first with the Rangers -- a 9-1 drubbing in Ottawa on Saturday that he called embarrassing.

“Even if I’m 13 years in the league, something like that, first game in New York, I was a little bit nervous, a little bit scared,” Jagr said.

He was on a line centered by Eric Lindros, instead of Petr Nedved, whom he was with Saturday.

Detroit 2, Dallas 2 -- Teppo Numminen beat Red Wing goalie Manny Legace with 6:02 left in regulation to give the Stars a tie at Dallas. Legace, starting in place of struggling Curtis Joseph, finished with 27 saves. He stopped two hard power-play shots just before giving up the tying goal.
