Three male suspects fleeing the scene of a bank robbery in Thousand Oaks on Thursday were arrested after they crashed their van into a freeway embankment, authorities said.

Three males entered the Washington Mutual Bank in the 200 block of Hampshire Road about 10 a.m., authorities said. Two then hopped over the teller booths and ordered employees and customers to the floor, authorities said.

The trio took off in a blue van that crashed a short time later into an embankment of the Ventura Freeway, authorities said. Sheriff’s deputies arrived soon after and set up a perimeter.
