Weiland ordered into drug program
Velvet Revolver lead singer Scott Weiland has been ordered to complete a six-month drug program as a result of his no-contest plea to a charge of driving under the influence.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Randolph Moore also sentenced Weiland to three years’ probation and ordered him to pay a $390 fine plus penalty assessments, said Frank Mateljan of the city attorney’s office.
Weiland, 36, former lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots, also was ordered to pay restitution to the owner of a parked vehicle he rammed with his car on Oct. 27 in Hollywood, Mateljan said. He pleaded no contest on July 2 to the misdemeanor DUI charge.
