From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A resident has promised to get permission from Ukiah officials before blasting patriotic music from his home again.

During a court session Monday, Ric Piffero offered to meet with unhappy residents who pursued criminal prosecution against him.

Mendocino County Dist. Atty. Norman Vroman told a judge that he saw no criminal intent in Piffero’s action.

Ukiah police went to Piffero’s home on July 4 and ordered him to pull the plug on the pair of rented speakers he had set up to broadcast the recorded music.
