Bush won’t have far to go for ‘9/11’
The surprise hit of the summer movie season will come to its star’s backyard next month when a peace group holds a special screening of “Fahrenheit 9/11” just down the road from President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas.
The Michael Moore movie that lambastes Bush and his administration’s reasoning for going to war in Iraq will be shown about six miles from the Bush ranch by a local peace group on Aug. 14. Until now, the film has not hit a screen within about 30 miles of the ranch.
Skip Londos, a peace activist who is helping to organize the screening, said filmmaker Moore agreed to make a copy of the movie available for the group after hearing the movie was not being shown near the Bush ranch.
Proceeds from the show will go to the Crawford Peace House and to the town, Londos said.
