Emmy Time’s Competition Heats Up

Emmy Time, who has won four in a row against claimers, will try tougher allowance company in tonight’s fifth race at 300 yards.

Owned and trained by Adan Farias, the 4-year-old Splash Bac mare will break from the outside in the field of six in the $10,050 contest.

Rodrigo Aceves, who has been aboard during her streak, remains on the California-bred.

Claimed for $5,000 nearly a year ago, Emmy Time lost in her first three races for her new connections. Since then, she has won five of six.

Her competition includes Shell Ha and Dashin Dashetta, who finished a nose apart on June 11, with the former picking up her fifth lifetime win for part-owner and trainer Paul Jones.

Four! Emmy Time in the fifth, Flight Zone, Shining Nuggets and Dr. Glitter in the sixth, Dashing Perry, Corona Too and Bf Easy Does It in the seventh and Ferragamo, City Club and Cuantemplate in the eighth.

Shots in the dark: Cheery Pie debuts for trainer Blane Schvaneveldt in the first. Fishers Bunny should improve the second time out for trainer Donna McArthur in the second.
