U.S. Soldier Reported Wounded by Bomb
From Times Wire Reports
A remote-controlled bomb tore through a street in the city of Kandahar as a U.S. military convoy passed, wounding at least one U.S. soldier, the military said. But Afghan officials said the blast left four blood-covered U.S. soldiers lying on the road.
A purported Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the attack, one of several reported across southern Afghanistan. Violence in the nation this year has killed more than 600 people, including soldiers, international workers and civilians.
