UCLA Student, 20, Is Missing
A UCLA computer sciences student from Orange has been missing since Friday, when he failed to show up for a meeting with his counselor, authorities reported Sunday.
Campus police said they were investigating the disappearance of Ahmad Yaseen Arain, 20, who was last seen Friday morning on an MTA bus in Anaheim. Sgt. James Vandenberg of the UCLA Police Department said there was no indication of foul play.
Sulaiman Arain, Ahmad’s younger brother, said his mother had spoken with Ahmad on his cellphone at 9:45 a.m. Friday while his bus was en route to UCLA. He was scheduled to meet with his academic counselor at 11:30 a.m., but didn’t show up.
“We’re really concerned,” Sulaiman Arain said. “We really miss him.”
