Bar Owner Gets 2 Years for Role in Cocaine Ring
From Times Wire Reports
The owner of a popular beach bar was sentenced to two years in prison for her role in a cocaine ring that catered to middle-class clients in Pensacola Beach.
Linda Taylor Murphy, 52, also voluntarily forfeited the Sandshaker Lounge & Package Store and her home. The properties were valued at about $1.7 million.
“Even though I’ve lost so much, I’m glad it’s over,” Murphy told U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson. She pleaded guilty in December to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and money laundering.
