SPARKS TONIGHT

at Sacramento, 7, ESPN 2

Site -- Arco Arena.

Radio -- none.

Records -- Sparks 17-7, Monarchs 11-12.

Record vs. Monarchs -- 0-2.

Update -- The Sparks may have the league’s best record, but that won’t impress the Monarchs because they have handled the Sparks in both meetings this season. The key reason for Sacramento’s success? Rebounding. The Monarchs have a 63-60 edge overall and a more pronounced 28-19 advantage in offensive boards. Veteran Sacramento guard Edna Campbell, who has been bothered all season with a problematic left hamstring, has gone back on the disabled list. In her place, the Monarchs have activated rookie guard Giuliana Mendiola. Spark rookie center Christi Thomas, who suffered a sprained ankle last week against Washington, has recovered enough to where she might get some playing time in one of the Sparks’ final two games before the Olympic break.
