Death Penalty Sought in Killing of Officer
From Times Staff Reports
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for David Garcia, the suspected gang member who allegedly shot and killed Burbank Police Officer Matthew Pavelka near Bob Hope Airport on Nov. 15.
If found guilty, Garcia would qualify for capital punishment because he allegedly killed a peace officer acting in the line of duty and to evade arrest.
