District Rejects Bid to Offer Darwin Alternative

Biology teachers will not be required to offer alternatives to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, under a decision of the Roseville Joint Union High School District.
Critics of Darwin’s theory say there are a growing number of scientists who question the idea that natural selection has dictated evolution of life on Earth. They want school instruction to reflect other possibilities. But on a 3-2 vote, district trustees rejected changing the curriculum.
