Righteous Brother, who hasn’t run since Nov. 28, is among 16 3-year-olds who will be running tonight in two trials for the June 19 Governor’s Cup Derby. The 10 fastest qualifiers advance to the 400-yard final.

Owned by Pazazz Quarterhorses Ltd. and trained by Connie Hall, Righteous Brother, a son of First Down Dash, won three of eight in 2003 and was third in two Grade I stakes -- the Governor’s Cup Futurity and the Golden State Futurity.

The California-bred will compete in the first trial. Metallic Lion heads the second trial. The winner of the Governor’s Cup Futurity as a 2-year-old and second in the Kindergarten, Metallic Lion was fourth in his only other attempt at 400 yards.
