Well I Never is the fastest qualifier for the upcoming $120,000 Governor’s Cup Derby, thanks to an impressive win over the weekend.

Trained by Paul Jones for a partnership and ridden by Cody Jensen, Well I Never won his trial by a length and completed the 400 yards in 19.885 seconds.

Other qualifiers were Not For Long, Honor And Cherish, Righteous Brother, Awise Chick, Hawk The Cash, Metallic Lion, Theretischemistry, How Good and Lani Chick. The Governor’s Cup Derby will be run June 19.

Tonight, Jones will send out a couple of well-regarded first-timers in Aries Man and No Restrictionsapply in the seventh, a $8,750 maiden contest for 2-year-olds at 300 yards.
