Judge Orders Forest Road Reopened
From a Times Staff Writer
A 200-foot stretch of road leading into the Angeles National Forest above Altadena was reopened to the public Tuesday by order of a Los Angeles Superior Court judge.
The easement over private property links county-maintained El Prieto Road with the El Prieto Fire Road that winds through a portion of the forest. Attorney Paul R. Ayres said Tuesday’s decision reopens the easement, which had been closed since July 5, 1999, through the actions of a local homeowners group.
The easement will remain closed to vehicles.
