Deputy Stabbed, Suspect Fatally Shot in Chase
A deputy was stabbed and a shoplifting suspect was shot and killed during a chase through the city’s South of Market area.
On Wednesday, two San Francisco sheriff’s deputies spotted Walgreens store guards chasing two shoplifting suspects, Sheriff Michael Hennessey said.
Senior Deputy Daniel Rosen tackled one of the men, who allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Rosen in the thigh, Hennessey said.
The suspect then threatened Rosen’s unidentified partner, who shot the man. It was unclear whether the deputies identified themselves.
The second suspect surrendered after the shooting.
