Mortgage Rates Mixed as 30-Year Edges Up
The average rate on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages was 5.59% this week, mortgage giant Freddie Mac reported, up slightly from the seven-month low of 5.58% in the previous two weeks.
For 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, rates dipped to 4.88% from 4.89% last week. Rates for one-year adjustable mortgages decreased to 3.47% from 3.5% last week.
The nationwide averages for mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Each loan type carried an average fee of 0.7 point this week.
