Ex-Councilman, 4 Contributors Fined by Ethics Panel
Former Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer and four contributors to his campaign have agreed to pay fines to the Ethics Commission for campaign finance law violations, according to settlements disclosed Friday.
Feuer agreed to pay $1,650 for inadvertently accepting four checks to his 2001 city attorney campaign that exceeded contribution limits by that amount. The four contributors also agreed to pay fines to cover those violations.
In addition, the firm South Coast Metal Finishing agreed to pay a $500 administrative penalty for exceeding contribution limits by that amount in donating to a committee that supported Mayor James K. Hahn’s 2001 election.
