Chino Man Arrested in Child Molestation Case

Ontario police arrested a Chino man who allegedly impersonated a police officer and kidnapped and molested a 12-year-old girl, and also approached three other schoolchildren in recent weeks.

Larry Neal Huscher, 58, was arrested Tuesday after undercover police detectives spotted him driving by Oaks Middle School in Ontario. Huscher led officers on a high-speed chase that ended when Ontario police officers rammed his car near the intersection of Central Avenue and Mission Boulevard.

“Luckily, criminals aren’t the smartest people in the world,” Ontario police spokesman Cpl. David McBride said. “They create a pattern and, fortunately for us, they sometimes fall back into that pattern.”

McBride said Huscher was identified by all four of his alleged victims, three girls and one boy. Three of the children, ages 12, 13 and 15, were from Ontario. The fourth alleged victim, approached last week, was from Rancho Cucamonga.

Huscher was booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on suspicion of kidnapping, kidnapping for the purpose of rape, sodomy, lewd acts with a child, criminal threats, three counts of impersonating a peace officer, robbery and child annoying/molesting.

Police also allege Huscher stole a car in Mira Loma in January and that he possessed methamphetamine and cocaine when he was arrested Tuesday.

Police said Huscher’s criminal history includes convictions for grand theft auto, forgery, resisting arrest and drug offenses.
