Man Charged in Beating of 78-Year-Old Woman

Bail was set at $1 million Tuesday for the suspect in the beating of an elderly Dana Point woman in a homeowners association dispute.
Charles Mineo, 47, charged with attempted murder, burglary and elder abuse, was arrested Saturday at his Riverside home on suspicion of punching 78-year-old Lucy Deabreu in the face, leaving her bloody and battered earlier that day.
Authorities say the assault occurred because Deabreu had alerted the association board that Mineo had made unauthorized additions to his weekend getaway condo.
