Janet Jackson to appear on ‘Letterman’

Janet Jackson is slated to give her first television interview after her breast-baring incident at the Super Bowl -- a March 29 appearance on “The Late Show With David Letterman” on CBS, the same network on which she flashed an audience of 90 million people during the halftime show.

Jackson’s booking was announced Thursday, the day after rocker Courtney Love jumped up on Letterman’s desk and, with her back to the TV cameras, pulled up her shirt and exposed herself to the talk show host.

Flashing is becoming something of a “Late Night” tradition, following Drew Barrymore’s lead in 1995.

Jackson’s appearance will be the first in a round of TV spots on several networks to promote her new album, “Damita Jo,” which will be released March 30. She’s also scheduled to show up for ABC’s “Good Morning America” on March 31, Fox’s “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on April 2 and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on April 10.
