MTA to Offer Reserved Parking in 2 Red Line Lots
To cope with the parking shortage at the North Hollywood and Universal City Red Line subway stations, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority plans to convert a small portion of their lots into reserved paid parking starting April 1.
Riders who buy a $39 monthly permit will be able to park until 10:30 a.m. daily at any of the 25 green reserved spaces at each station.
After that time, the spaces will be available to any rider for free. The two stations have a total of 1,474 spaces, and efforts are underway to add more, officials said.
The permit will be valid only at the station for which it was issued, officials said. The MTA will not issue more permits than the number of green spaces available.
Permits may be purchased through www.parkmetro.net or by calling (800) 997-0197.
