Sykora Sent to Hospital

Mighty Duck forward Petr Sykora was hospitalized Friday night in Columbus, Ohio, with what doctors said was a severe case of dehydration after a 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets, according to Duck officials.

Sykora, who did not travel with the team to Minnesota for today’s game against the Wild, was released from the hospital Saturday. He flew home to Southern California and could return to the lineup Wednesday against Vancouver, Duck officials said.

It is the first game Sykora has missed since being acquired by the Ducks before the 2002-03 season. He is the team’s second-leading goal scorer with 23 and has five goals and nine points in his last 12 games.
