Fashion council names nominees

Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Ralph Rucci are the Womens- wear Designer of the Year nominees, the Council of Fashion Designers of America announced Tuesday.

Kors, Sean Combs and Ralph Lauren are nominated for the group’s Menswear Designer of the Year award.

“Fashion icon” Sarah Jessica Parker, Donna Karan and Tom Ford will receive special honors.

Winners will be announced June 7 in New York.
