From Times Wire Reports

A Fresno County judge ruled that the motel that employed murderer Cary Stayner was not responsible for the 1999 death of Silvina Pelosso, a visitor from Argentina to Yosemite National Park.

The 16-year-old Pelosso was staying at Cedar Lodge in Mariposa County with her friend, Juli Sund, 15, and Juli’s mother, Carole Sund. The three were attacked and murdered by Stayner, who has been sentenced to death for the crimes.

The Sund family had been part of the wrongful-death lawsuit but agreed to a $1-million settlement. Silvina’s parents, Jose and Raquel, did not.
