As a huge Angel fan (we’re loaded with them up here!) I was shocked to see the headline in Tuesday’s paper, “Tafoya Takes Over Guerrero’s Spot.”

What in the world could Mr. Moreno be thinking? Guerrero is one of the best hitters in all of baseball, if not the very best, and to replace him, with a girl, yet, makes no sense. I’m sure Ms. Tafoya is an adequate player, but she will never be as good as Vladimir, who

What? You’re talking about Lisa Guerrero being replaced as the “MNF” sideline reporter? Oh, that’s very different. Never mind.

The biggest joke regarding ABC’s replacing “Monday Night Football” sideline reporter Lisa Guerrero with Michele Tafoya is, who cares?

Raise your hand if you can tell me one thing of any major significance that Lisa Guerrero, or any past sideline reporter, has ever come up with in their allotted 20-30 second exposure.

Here is a typical sample:

Lisa Guerrero: Coach, your team is down by 14 points, what do you have to do to win this game?

Coach: Lisa, we have to score at least 15 points to win this game.

Lisa: Coach, what did you say to the team at halftime?

Coach: Lisa, I said we had better win this bleeping game or some heads will roll.

Lisa: Thanks Coach, and now back to you, Al.

Boy, I can’t wait until Michele Tafoya tops this repartee with some coach next fall.
