Nelson sidelined by bum wrists

Share

Willie Nelson fans will have to wait a while before the Red Headed Stranger makes his next concert appearance. Nelson has been sidelined by a case of carpal tunnel syndrome, forcing postponement of the next leg of his tour, his publicist reports.

Last week, Los Angeles orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lewis Yocum determined the eight-time Grammy winner’s condition is aggravated by continuous guitar playing.

Electromyographic tests documented the extent of the nerve injury to Nelson’s wrists and hands. Doctors have recommended rest, splinting and medication in an effort to avoid surgery.

All concert dates will be postponed until after July 3. Ticket holders will be advised soon about rescheduled dates. Nelson promises he’ll be on the road again soon.
