Miguel Batista wanted the special night former teammate Randy Johnson had.

Batista took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, and the Toronto Blue Jays handed Johan Santana his first loss in 20 starts with a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday in Toronto.

“I think it stinks that a 40-year-old man can do it, and I’m 33 and I didn’t,” Batista said, referring to Johnson’s perfect game for Arizona against Atlanta. Batista (2-3) didn’t give up a hit until Luis Rivas’ single in the sixth. He gave up two runs on two hits, walking five and striking out five in six innings.

Reed Johnson and Carlos Delgado each had two runs batted in for the Blue Jays, and Terry Adams escaped a ninth-inning jam.
