Guantanamo Justice

Share

Re “Guantanamo Bay Justice: 3 Hours Behind Closed Doors,” Nov. 7: The limited evidence against the “enemy combatants” at Guantanamo suggests that they are being tried not for war crimes but simply for being resistance fighters against the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. For many, even the evidence that they were actual fighters is questionable. The possibility that they were present at some Al Qaeda training camp is being used as conclusive proof that they might pose a future threat to the U.S. In other words, they are being tried and punished for any actions that they might take against the U.S. in the future. Is this what we call American justice?
