After jurors declared themselves deadlocked, a judge called a mistrial in the case against the accused killer of the half sister of tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams.

The jury deliberated for about three days in the trial of Robert Edward Maxfield, who is accused of fatally shooting Yetunde Price on Sept. 14, 2003, in Compton.

Maxfield is to return to court Nov. 17, when prosecutors are expected to announce whether they plan to retry him.
