Holiday closures
Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Banks and savings and loans will be closed; most will be open Friday but check with your branch for details.
Mail will not be delivered Thursday and post offices will be closed. Mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule and will return to normal Friday.
Metrolink trains will run on a limited schedule; for details, call (800) 371-LINK.
Trash will not be picked up Thursday; collections will be one day late the rest of the week.
City, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
County, state and federal courthouses will be closed Thursday and Friday.
