5 Injured in 605 Freeway Crash

Five people were hospitalized, two in serious condition, after an older model car crashed into the center divider of the 605 Freeway on Thursday, said California Highway Patrol Officer Bruce Gaines.

The accident happened north of Washington Boulevard between Pico Rivera and Santa Fe Springs. Two of the five passengers in the vehicle were airlifted to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and are in serious condition, Gaines said.

Two other passengers were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, and one to Whittier Presbyterian Hospital. Their conditions were not known Thursday night.

The identities of the injured were not released, and the cause of the crash was being investigated, Gaines said.
