From Times Wire Reports

The Portland lawyer who was mistakenly arrested by the FBI in connection with the March train bombings in Madrid sued the U.S. government, saying his rights were trampled on because of his Muslim faith.

Brandon Mayfield, 38, is seeking unspecified damages and a ruling that provisions of the Patriot Act are unconstitutional.

He said the government violated his civil liberties by wiretapping his Oregon home and filing misleading affidavits to justify his two-week imprisonment.
