No Rhyme and Reason to This Dodger Season

Share

I’ve never seen a first-place team

Subjected to such flak,

Yet 53 times these guys trailed

And then came roaring back.

They know the sweet taste of champagne

And one thing more they know:

The hacks who sniped at them all year

Now get to eat some crow.

They’d better chew it carefully,

These petty wisenheimers;

The only choking dog in sight

Is one called T.J. Simers.

Baseball is a business. Yet, to followers it can bring sadness or enjoyment. Bill Plaschke gave us a touch of humanity with his Oct. 7 story about the bond between Dodger Manager Jim Tracy and his father, Trace.

Thanks for sharing it with readers.
