Suspect Allegedly Tries to Run Down Officer
A Hesperia man already suspected of attempted murder has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to run down a parole officer, who shot and wounded the man, police said Sunday.
Jessie Valdivia, 21, was apprehended Friday. Valdivia was grazed in the neck by the officer, according to the Pomona Police Department.
Officers blocked an alley in the 900 block of Murray Street at 4:45 p.m. to trap two men in a stolen vehicle. Valdivia backed up and allegedly tried to run over one of the officers, police said.
Jeffrey Griffin of Pomona, 21, the passenger in the car, also was arrested.
The men had been sought on a warrant for attempted murder by the Montclair Police Department.
