Double standard?

Once again exemplifying The Times’ double standard when it comes to conservatives, Tim Rutten questions Fox’s decision not to suspend Bill O’Reilly or apologize in response to unproven allegations of sexual harassment by a former employee whom O’Reilly has sued for attempted extortion [“Caught in the Spin Zone,” Oct. 16].

I must have missed the column in which Rutten similarly attacked CBS for not suspending Dan Rather (and his biased, left-wing producer Mary Mapes) for not yet apologizing after the far more credible and, from the crucial perspective of media integrity, far more significant allegations related to Rather’s use of forged documents.
