Hurt Ankle Puts Drake on Sideline

USC offensive lineman John Drake suffered a sprained right ankle in USC’s 38-0 victory over Washington and is listed as questionable for next week’s game at Washington State.

Drake, the starting left guard, was injured late in the third quarter. He limped to the sideline and was taken to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative. Drake returned to the sideline in street clothes.

“If it had happened earlier in the game, I would have come back,” said Drake, who broke the same ankle last season. “I think I’ll be fine.”
