Driver Is Killed After His Car Crashes Into Tree
From Times Staff Reports
An Anaheim man was killed early Monday after he lost control of his car and struck a tree, police said.
Robert Alvarez, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 3 a.m. crash at Serrano Avenue and Canyon Rim Road, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Dave Flutts.
Alvarez was apparently exceeding the speed limit while traveling south on Serrano Avenue when he lost control, crossed northbound lanes and hit the tree, Flutts said.
