Should We Change Leaders in Wartime?

Share

It is my opinion that the terrorists are waging a holy war against the world, not just the United States. The future of the civilized world depends on our effort to win this war, therefore we must all unite behind Bush and vote for him in this election. Bush is a great leader in the war against terror and should continue, to finish his job.

We should not be too worried about the economy. After we win the war, the economy will grow as development and rebuilding will take place all over the world, just as it did after World War II.

After hearing that 49 Iraqi security trainees were gangland-slaughtered and that 380 tons of high explosives have disappeared, one wonders how quaggy can the mire get? Now even the Bush handpicked Iraqi prime minister, along with most of the rest of the world, is saying that the “coalition” is screwing up.

Please consider me not amazed that there are still undecided voters even after the latest revelation that the Bush administration’s war planning failed to include securing 380 tons of military explosives in Iraq. I think I understand those voters. There are difficult choices to be wrestled with. Perhaps, like me, those other undecideds can’t decide whether the administration is intellectually bankrupt, grossly negligent, incredibly stupid, recklessly arrogant or filled with overweening hubris. It’s a tough choice, but I should have it narrowed down by election day.

Every time our soldiers are attacked in Iraq, the Bush administration labels the attackers as Hussein supporters. And our news media have parroted it without thinking. How absurd!

I am not a Bush fan, but if the U.S. were being attacked now by another country, I would fight the invaders with whatever weapon I could lay my hands on. Does that make me a Bush supporter? Is it so hard to understand that the Iraqi fighters may be simply defending their country against the invaders?
