Three Killed in O.C. Crashes
Three men were killed early Saturday in separate Orange County motor vehicle crashes, authorities said.
Alberto Corral, 23, of Whittier was struck by a vehicle shortly after 1 a.m. as he tried to push his stalled motorcycle to the side of the northbound Santa Ana Freeway near the Brookhurst Street exit in Anaheim, said Larry Esslinger, Orange County deputy coroner. Corral died at the scene.
David Parrino, 25, of Ladera Ranch died less than 30 minutes later when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on the southbound San Diego Freeway near the Culver Drive exit in Irvine, Esslinger said. He too died at the scene.
Lorenzo Salcedo, 61, of Fountain Valley and his dog were struck in a crosswalk at Warner Avenue and Ward Street in Fountain Valley shortly before 6 a.m., police said. Salcedo died at the scene; his injured dog is being cared for by Orange County Animal Control. Police are investigating whether the driver ran a red light.
