Adrian Beltre reached another milestone Sunday in a 7-6 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

Beltre hit a three-run double in the seventh inning and has 111 runs batted in, breaking the single-season franchise record for third basemen. Ron Cey had 110 in 1977.

“It’s nice to get records when you win, but I’m not really thinking about that right now,” Beltre said. “Maybe I’ll think about that in the off-season. Right now, trying to win the division and get to the playoffs is all that matters.”

With 45 home runs, Beltre needs four to tie Shawn Green’s franchise record.

“I couldn’t be more proud of what this young man has done this year,” Manager Jim Tracy said. “To see the way he has matured and developed, the way he has worked to turn himself into the player that you see before you ... I just love him.”

Rookie pitcher Edwin Jackson displayed a good fastball -- clocked as high as 96 mph -- and changeup in 4 2/3 innings in his first start since July 8.

Through four innings, the right-hander limited the Rockies to one run on Jeromy Burnitz’s 36th homer.

And although Jackson struggled in the Rockies’ four-run fifth, the Dodgers were optimistic about his performance.

“The consistency of command is the only real thing that got him,” Tracy said. “He had a good fastball and he threw some terrific changeups, but when you’re 4 2/3 innings in, and you have right at 100 pitches, you know there have been deep counts.”

Jackson might start again Saturday against San Francisco.

“I ran out of gas a little bit, but I still continued to try to battle,” he said. “I didn’t want to give up. It’s something to build off of.”
