Attorney to Be Sentenced for Evading CHP Officer
A Poway attorney faces up to a year in jail when she is sentenced for driving away from a California Highway Patrol officer who stopped her in January as she was rushing her child to school.
A jury on Friday convicted Stacy Lee Taylor, 44, of evading an officer with reckless driving, child endangerment and resisting arrest. The charges, all misdemeanors, also carry fines of up to $11,000. Taylor is to be sentenced Oct. 13.
According to testimony, Taylor told the officer: “I don’t have time for this. I’m taking my child to school,” then drove off.
