Oil Tanker Crew Fends Off Pirate Attack

The crew of a Japanese oil tanker used powerful fire hoses to fend off an attack by pirates in the Singapore Strait, an ocean-crime monitoring agency reported.
The International Maritime Bureau said that pirates in seven fishing boats accosted the tanker near Indonesia’s Karimun Islands on Tuesday afternoon.
